Jake Knott talks junior days

Over the next year, Jake Knott will likely have to decide not only what school to attend, but also which sport to play in college. The 6-foot-3, 210-pound Knott, who stars in both football and baseball at Waukee High School, has drawn plenty of recruiting interest in each sport, including invites to several junior days for football.

The junior has already been to Iowa with trips remaining to Purdue, Iowa State, and Kansas State. At Iowa's junior day, the versatile player had a chance to catch up with the Iowa coaching staff, who could see him playing linebacker, safety, or wide receiver in college.

On the baseball diamond, Knott earned second team all-state honors as a sophomore last year after batting .458 on the season. With recruiting interest in both sports, the junior plans to stay patient as he waits to evaluate his opportunities.
