Waukee LB staying patient
Between football camps and baseball season, Waukee linebacker Jake Knott has remained extremely busy throughout the summer. The 6-foot-3, 210-pound Knott, who is receiving college interest in both sports, made stops at Iowa, Iowa State, Purdue, Northwestern, and Missouri on the camp circuit this summer.
Knott, who holds early scholarship offers from Wyoming, Army, and North Dakota, likely projects at outside linebacker in college, but is receiving some interest at other positions as well, including safety, fullback, and tight end.
Currently, the 2009 prospect is wrapping up baseball season at Waukee as his team gets ready for sub-state play this coming weekend. Playing shortstop, he is batting .470 on the year and receiving plenty of recruiting interest on the diamond as well, including offers from UNI and Iowa.
As he waits to see who else will offer not only in football, but also in baseball, Knott knows he will have to remain patient throughout the recruiting process. Once all the cards are on the table then the 2009 prospect will have a difficult decision to make.
