CSU conference slate set
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Mountain West Conference on Tuesday released the first four-year football scheduling rotation for the 12 football-playing members, covering the 2013-16 seasons. In 2013 the Rams will play eight conference games--four home games at Sonny Lubick Field at Hughes Stadium and four road contests.
At home the Rams will play Air Force, Boise State, Nevada and San Jose State this fall. The team will travel to Hawai'i, New Mexico, Utah State and Wyoming. In 2014 the home/road assignments will be reversed. The Rams will not play Fresno State, San Diego State or UNLV in 2013 and '14. Colorado State has played both the Aztecs and Rebels every season since 1996.

Specific dates are expected to be announced later this spring.
The scheduling format for the new 12-member football lineup was computer-generated and consists of five intra-divisional games and three cross-divisional contests annually. Each institution will play four home and four road Conference games each season, and will play every Mountain West opponent home and away during each four-year cycle.
Intra-divisional opponents will alternate sites annually (three home/two away or two home/three away). The three cross-divisional opponents will be the same in each two-year period, with the site alternating from Year 1 to Year 2. The three cross-divisional opponents who are missed initially will appear on the schedule in the second two years of the cycle, again alternating sites from Year 3 to Year 4. The entire four-year sequence repeats beginning in 2017 and will continue thereafter.
CSU's already-announced non-conference schedule features the traditional Rocky Mountain Showdown against in-state rival Colorado on Aug. 31, followed by a road game at Tulsa Sept. 7. The Rams host Cal Poly in their home opener Sept. 14 at Hughes Stadium, then travel to Alabama Sept. 21 before returning home to close non-conference play vs. UTEP Sept. 28.
