Howard, a 6-foot-5, 275-pound force on the defensive line for Fort Scott, hails from Cincinnati, where he was originally a two-star recruit as part of the 2014 class. According to his Rivals.com profile, he held an offer from Kent State.

Howard officially visited Colorado State the weekend of July 23, along with Independence C.C. offensive tackle Ben Knox. Rams defensive line coach Ricky Logo is Howard's primary recruiter.

His commitment comes almost a month after his visit. While it remains unclear where CSU will specifically utilize Howard on the defensive line, his addition is certainly a big one.

The Rams are already thin up front and could use immediate reinforcements after the season. Howard's college experience, production and size should enable him to compete immediately for playing time on Logo's defensive line in CSU's 3-4 front.
